Before the internship
If I’m accepted into the program, is an internship guaranteed?
Yes, we’ll make sure you find the right internship. However, if no company accepts your application, we’ll give you a full refund.
Why should I apply to the EIC program? What are the advantages of an internship in Canada?
Our internship program is an investment in your future, giving you a valuable edge in the professional world. Gaining international experience will boost your long-term job search, showcasing your ability to adapt to new environments and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds. Some past interns have even received full-time job offers from their host companies after completing their internship, although this is not guaranteed.
How far in advance should I apply to secure an internship through the program?
We recommend that you apply at least 1-2 months before the desired start date of your internship. This will give you time to complete all the necessary formalities and prepare for your departure in the best possible conditions

I have been accepted into the EIC program. What is the deadline to complete the application process?
Our international internship programs are highly competitive. Each professional area and destination has a limited number of places, and many have long waiting lists. For these reasons, there is a deadline for confirming your placement. Once you have passed the admission interview, you will have 1 to 2 weeks to confirm your participation
Can I either browse a list of employers or choose to intern with a specific company?
Because we work with so many companies in Canada, we don’t have a static list of partner companies. In fact, our list of host companies is constantly evolving based on availability. We often partner with new companies when we feel they are a better fit for a participant.
Due to the factors listed above, a specific company cannot be guaranteed.
When will I know where I'm doing my internship?
You’ll find out which company you’ll be doing your internship with a few days after you’ve completed all your company interviews.
Can I talk to the team on site before I am accepted and confirm my place in the program?
Due to the high volume of applications, our specialized program teams can only work with candidates who have officially confirmed their place in the program.
How does the placement process work?
After the first interview and deposit, you’ll talk to the placement team to begin building your professional profile based on your previous work experience, academic background, and career goals. We also take into account each participant’s preferences, as this is a collaborative placement process.
After creating your professional profile, the placement team will draw on our extensive network of host organizations to find the position that best matches your profile. We’ll then prepare you for interviews to help you land your internship in your chosen field.
Most of our participants are successful in their interviews because our placement team invests a lot of time and energy in finding the best possible match.
When should I book my flights?
We recommend that you book your flights as soon as your internship position has been confirmed and you have received your visa.
Can I live in the apartment for a while before or after my internship?
Yes, it is possible to arrive a few days before the course and leave a few days after.
How much does the EIC internship program cost?
For the simple formula, the program costs $2,850.
For the full package, please see the Fees page.
Do you offer financial aid or scholarships?
Yes, we can provide you with a list of the many financial aid options available to you.
What is the refund policy?
At EIC, we understand that your plans can change. That is why we offer a lifetime credit for all EIC program fees paid in advance. If you must postpone your internship or change the destination city, you will obtain a full credit that can be applied against future fees. Bear in mind that program fees can change over time, and candidates are subject to prevailing fees at the time of re-application. Note that the credit is transferable to direct family members only.
What is not included in the program fees?
Airfare, medical insurance, visa (student portion) and living expenses are not included in the program.
When are the EIC internship fees due?
The deposit to confirm your place (€450) must be paid within 10 days after the interview.
The totality of the program must be paid 21 days prior to your arrival in Canada. For the full package, payment can be split in 2: the first half 21 days before your arrival and the second half 1 month after the start of your internship.
During the internship
Is participation in events compulsory?
All the events and activities we organize are optional. However, they are designed to help you make the most of your experience, both personally and professionally, so we recommend that you attend!
Are internships remunerated?
Compensation for internships in Canada is not regulated, but EIC has ensured that all partner companies include:
- A fixed salary
- Performance-based commissions
- Company-specific benefits (transit passes, meals, travel, seminars, etc.)
What happens when I arrive at my work placement?
Upon arrival, our driver will be waiting for you. He will take you to your accommodation and our coordinator will give you a tour of the facilities. If you arrive after 6pm local time, you will meet your coordinator the following morning.
Will I get university credits?
It all depends on your course of study. If your internship is compulsory for the validation of your studies, you will obtain university credits if you meet the criteria required by your university or school (e.g.: validated internship report).
What does a typical work schedule look like?
Internships abroad are usually full-time, intensive programs of 35 to 40 hours per week. Your host organization will set your daily hours, but most internships run from 9am to 5pm.
I don't need accommodation, can I choose only the services I need?
Please contact the Admissions Manager to discuss this option.
How are the accommodations organized?
Interns on our program have their own private room and bathroom and share common areas with other interns or international students, depending on the destination.
