PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Advantages of the EIC program

Living independently in a foreign country while completing an internship is a significant step in both personal and professional growth.

An internship abroad offers your child a unique chance to work as a professional in a multicultural setting. This experience helps them adapt to a new culture, explore different work methods, and develop critical thinking skills. These are essential assets that lay the foundation for a successful career and set them apart from peers who haven't had such a valuable experience.

It's also an opportunity for your child to build independence while receiving full support through the EIC program. The skills and experiences gained in Canada will help them grow personally and professionally, creating memories that last a lifetime. Plus, having an international experience like this on their CV will enhance their profile and make them stand out.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Grant and compensation

There are many scholarship programs available for students, and EIC works with several financial partners that we can recommend to you. We also suggest reaching out to your bank for additional options.

If you’re applying for an internship in Canada, various types of financing may be available to help cover your living expenses and/or travel costs. Our team is here to guide you through the different grant options and provide all the information you need to complete your application.

Compensation for internships in Canada is not regulated. However, EIC ensures that its participants are compensated. That’s why we make sure that all our partner companies include:

  • Fixed salary
  • Performance-based commissions
  • Company specific benefits (transportation, meals, travel, seminars, etc.)

Please note: compensation varies by sector, company and position; for example, an internship in finance or accounting will generally offer higher financial compensation than an internship in an association or NGO.
