Do You Have Questions?
Before the internship
What types of internships does EIC offer?
Our internships cover more than 30 fields of activity across a wide range of sectors, including marketing, finance, engineering, IT, design, tourism, sports, and more. Each placement is personalized based on your profile, field of study, and career goals.
If I’m accepted into the program, is an internship guaranteed?
Yes, we make every effort to find you the internship that perfectly matches your profile. However, if no company accepts your application, we will provide a full refund.
Why should I apply to the EIC program? What are the benefits of an internship in Canada?
Our internship program is an investment in your future, and gives you a valuable edge in the professional world. An international experience helps demonstrate your ability to thrive in new environments and work with people from diverse backgrounds. Some previous interns have even received full-time job offers from their host companies, although this cannot be guaranteed.
How far in advance should I apply to secure an internship through the program?
We recommend applying at least 1-2 months before the desired start date of your internship. This allows sufficient time to complete all procedures and prepare for your departure.

I have been accepted into the EIC program. What is the deadline to complete the application process?
Our international internship programs are highly competitive. Each professional area and destination has a limited number of places, and many have long waiting lists. For these reasons, there is a deadline for confirming your placement. Once you have passed the admission interview, you will have 1 to 2 weeks to confirm your participation.
Can I either browse a list of employers or choose to intern with a specific company?
Because we work with so many companies in Canada, we don’t have a static list of partner companies. In fact, our list of host companies is constantly evolving based on availability. We often partner with new companies when we feel they are a better fit for a participant.
Due to the factors listed above, a specific company cannot be guaranteed.
When will I know where I'm doing my internship?
You will know your host company within a few days after you have completed all your interviews.
Can I talk to the team on site before I am accepted and confirm my place in the program?
Due to the high volume of applications, our specialized program teams are only able to work with candidates who have officially confirmed their place in the program.
How does the placement process work?
After the first interview and deposit, you will talk to our placement team to begin building your professional profile based on your previous work experience, academic background, and career goals. We also take into account each participant’s preferences, as placement is a collaborative process.
Once your professional profile has been created, the placement team will leverage our extensive network of partner companies to identify the position that best matches your profile. We will then prepare you for interviews to help you secure an internship in your field of interest.
Most of our participants are successful in their interviews, as our placement team invests significant time and effort in finding the best possible matches.
Can I live in the apartment for some days before or after my internship?
Yes, if you choose the housing option, it is possible to arrive a few days before the internship and leave a few days after. Please contact our team for more information.
When should I book my flights?
We recommend that you book your flights as soon as your internship position has been confirmed and you have received your visa.
What is not included in the program fees?
Airfare, medical insurance, part of the visa and living expenses are not included in the program.
What is the refund policy?
The €450 deposit paid at registration is deducted from the total program fee. It is fully refundable if no internship is found or if no company accepts the application. If a suitable internship is offered but the candidate withdraws before signing, 50% of the deposit may be refunded or converted into a lifetime credit. Once the internship is confirmed or the contract is signed, the deposit becomes non-refundable, but remains usable as a lifetime credit for a future EIC program.
Do you offer financial aid or scholarships?
Yes, we can provide you with a list of the many financial aid options available to you.
When are the EIC internship fees due?
The deposit to confirm your place (€450) must be paid within 10 days after the interview.
The totality of the program must be paid 21 days prior to your arrival in Canada. For the full package, payment can be split in 2: the first half 21 days before your arrival and the second half 1 month after the start of your internship.
How much does the EIC internship program cost?
The EIC program combines an internship in Canada, personalized support, and access to a dynamic community of international students.
The program costs €4,450. We also offer additional options to personalize your internship experience, including accommodation, advanced coaching, and professional English courses.
For more information, please see the Fees page.
During the internship
Do I have to participate in all the EIC events?
All the events and activities we organize are optional. However, they are designed to help you make the most of your experience, both personally and professionally, so we recommend that you attend!
What happens when I arrive at my work placement?
Before your departure, we will send you a welcome pack to help you prepare for your arrival. As soon as you land, our team will take care of you: they will contact you on WhatsApp, and a driver will take you to your accommodation. You will then be welcomed by a member of our team who will give you a tour of the residence to ensure a smooth arrival. If you arrive late in the evening, the tour may take place the following morning.
Will I get university credits?
It all depends on your course of study. If your internship is compulsory for the validation of your studies, you will be obtaining university credits if you meet the criteria required by your university or school (e.g.: validated internship report).
What does a typical work schedule look like?
Internships abroad are usually full-time, intensive programs of 35 to 40 hours per week. Your host organization will set your daily hours, but most internships run from 9am to 5pm.
Are internships remunerated?
Internship compensation in Canada is not regulated, but EIC ensures that all partner companies provide at least a monthly salary, and may also offer performance-based commissions or company-specific benefits (such as public transportation, meals, or participation in company activities).
It is important to keep in mind, however, that internships in fiels such as finance or accounting are more likely to offer financial compensation than internships within associations or NGOs.
How does EIC support participants upon arrival in Canada?
EIC arranges airport pickup (with the accommodation option), residence move-in, an orientation meeting, and provides an arrival kit (bedding, towels, hoodie, and essential items).
How are the accommodations organized?
Our accommodations include private areas (bedrooms and bathrooms) as well as shared spaces (kitchen, library, laundry room). They also feature other areas such as a swimming pool, a gym, a game room, restaurants, etc.
I don't need accommodation, can I only choose the services I need?
The EIC program is designed to offer you a personalized internship experience, giving you the freedom to choose the services you wish to include in your program. If you have any specific questions, please contact the admissions manager to discuss them.
