The opening period for the International Experience Canada pools generally begins in January and ends in October. These dates may vary depending on available spots and quota management by the Canadian government.
Applicants under the International Co-op Internship category enter a candidate pool and must wait to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a work permit. On average, invitation rounds are held weekly.
Once you receive an invitation, you can submit your official application on the International Experience Canada website. Processing times vary but are generally 4 to 8 weeks after submitting a complete application.
To maximize your chances, it is strongly recommended to create your profile as soon as your internship offer and signed agreement are ready. This allows you to enter the pool quickly and be eligible for the first invitation rounds.
