The Steps to Obtain a Canadian Visa

With EIC‘s support, each candidate benefits from personalized guidance to simplify administrative procedures and ensure a compliant application that meets Canadian immigration (IRCC) requirements.

1. Determine the right type of visa

Each work permit (such as the Co-op Internship Visa or the WHV) has its own criteria: duration, eligibility conditions, and required documents. Choosing the correct visa is essential to avoid delays or refusals.
EIC guides you toward the option best suited to your profile and internship project.

2. Check your eligibility

Before applying, it is important to confirm your eligibility for the Canadian visa. Criteria include: nationality, a clean criminal record, a signed internship agreement, and appropriate insurance coverage.

EIC assists you in this verification to secure your application.

3. Gather the required documents

Prepare the necessary documents in advance: a valid passport, signed internship agreement, proof of international health insurance, and evidence of sufficient funds.
💡 Thanks to EIC partnerships, you benefit from preferential rates on required insurance policies.

4. Submit your application

Applications are submitted directly through the IRCC online portal. Carefully complete each sections and upload all required documents.
We guide you step by step, and on the employer’s side, EIC handles the administrative procedures related to visa sponsorship and follow-up with Canadian authorities.

5. Wait for the decision

Processing times generally range from 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the period and visa type.
You can track your application online via your IRCC account. Stay attentive to notifications, as additional documents may be requested before approval.

6. Fly to Canada ✈️

Once your application is approved, you will receive a letter of introduction to present upon arrival when you arrive in Canada in order to obtain your work permit.
