Visa Assistance

BEFORE COMING IN CANADA

Obtain your canadian visa

Obtaining a visa is a key step for international students who want to complete an internship in Canada.

This document is necessary for entering Canada and staying in the country legally throughout the internship. Without a visa, access to the Canadian job market is not possible, which can put the internship goals and the student's academic success at risk.

Steps to Obtain a Work Visa for an Internship in Canada

Here are the general steps to apply for a Canadian visa for your internship:

1. Determine the right type of work visa for your internship

Depending on your needs, you can apply for various types of visas.

2. Check your eligibility

You must verify if you meet the eligibility requirements for a work visa for your internship. These criteria include factors such as age, education level, proficiency in English or French, and work experience.

3. Gather the required documents

You'll need to submit documents such as your passport, an internship agreement, international insurance, and proof of funds.

4. Submit your application

You can submit your work visa application online by creating your IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) account. It is crucial to fill out all sections of the application accurately and provide all necessary documents.

Note: EIC handles the administrative procedures related to the visa for future interns on behalf of companies (see the section below "Visa Assistance for Companies").

5. Wait for the decision

It may take several weeks to process your application for a work experience visa (usually between 4 and 8 weeks). You can track the status of your visa application on your IRCC account.

6. Fly to Canada

If your work visa application for an internship in Canada is approved, you will receive a letter of introduction. This document allows you to pick up your visa once you arrive in Canada, after which you can begin your internship.

Note: The visa application process for an internship in Canada can be complex and may vary depending on your citizenship and the type of internship you will be doing. It is recommended to start the application process as early as possible and to seek assistance from our team, who specialize in visa support for internships in Canada.
